The Falco Design Process
Step 1: Discovery and Research
All of our projects, large or small, print or web, start with a discovery meeting. The objective of this meeting is to give us the opportunity to learn more about you and your business. Much of this phase is spent gathering information, such as branding assets, goals, objectives, competition, style preferences, messaging, and your history (good or bad) of communicating with the target audience.
Step 2: Concept Development and Presentation
In this phase the lead designer, web and/or print designers and developers at Falco Design brainstorm creative solutions for your project. Here is where we make magic — and turn it into powerful images that communicate your vision and message. We will present our concepts via e-mail (PDF attachment) or as traditional, hi-res prints pasted onto presentation boards, whichever you prefer.
Step 3: Concept Refinement
After collecting your reactions, comments and suggestions, we make revisions to the creative materials prepared for your project. Your insights and needs are reflected in the final version.
Step 4: Approval and Production
Once the design concept is finalized and approved, Falco Design then moves on to the production phase.
For web sites, we build (code and program) the site based on the site map, content and approved design. When we are satisfied that the site is built to the project specifications and our quality standards, the site is put up on Falco's testing server where you are able to proof and examine the entire working site. Carefully proofing the entire site is critical.
For print projects, we begin the preparation of electronic mechanicals and typography based on the approved concept. When we are satisfied that the file is prepared to the project specifications and our quality standards, a proof in the form of a PDF is provided to you for final proofing and approval to go to print.
Step 5: Final Approval
Once you give final written approval to go live or go to print, Falco Design will move on to Step 6.
Step 6: Go Live or Go to Print
Approved web sites are migrated onto a live server at the hosting company of your choice. The site is now live for the public to view. If we have arranged hosting for you, we set up your initial e-mail account and provide instructions on how to access stats for your site.
For print projects, files are prepared using our proprietary release procedures and documentation. Everything the printer needs from art to fonts are provided on disc or via FTP. Once printer proofs are received and approved, a press run will be scheduled and pieces delivered per your instructions. If we arranged the printing for you, we will review the finished product to ensure it meets our quality standards and your specifications before the materials are delivered.
